2010 News

Pyramid have embarked on a new adventure! With years of
experience and a massive contact list, we have now
decided to move into event promotion. Our first event,
Zion Train at the Junction in Cambridge sold out! We’ve
more events planned throughout East Anglia in 2010,
starting with Nucleus Roots at the Junction in Cambridge
on Thursday 25th March 2010. Watch this space…

2009 News

2009 saw the continuing success of our Digidesign Profile
System, which has been on sub-hire to Britannia Row
Productions and Capital Sound on a regular basis.
Elsewhere, Pyramid Audio has been out in the field, with
our newly acquired flying system for our Martin Audio
Wavefront speakers. We at Pyramid believe this is a better
approach for medium scale events than Line Array
systems, as it keeps the sound focused on the audience
and is not as subject to prevailing winds blowing the sound
away as with a Line Array.
Pyramid are now sole suppliers of PA equipment to the Kiss
FM Weekenders.
2008 News

2008 saw our new DigiDesign Profile system go out with ELO, KT
Tunstall and the Wombats, as well as providing monitor duties on the
Main Stage at Glastonbury for Amy Winehouse and others.

At the slightly smaller end of the digital scale, our Yamaha LS9/32 has
been on almost permanent tour, as monitor desk for The Subways.
This has proved very useful for monitor engineer Phil Shenton as he
has the whole band on wireless in-ears and the need to have the
same mix every night is easily possible when touring with such a small
and versatile desk like the LS9.

February 2008: Pyramid Audio Raise Their Profile

Pyramid Audio are now the proud owners of a brand new Digidesign
D-Show Profile Mixing Console.
The D-Show Profile is Digidesign’s innovative, state-of-the-art live
sound mixing system. It has been designed with intensive research
and development and input from a variety of seasoned live sound
professionals, specifically to meet the requirements of live sound. The
result is a purpose built, modular live sound system that delivers
studio grade sound quality, maximum reliability and unprecedented
flexibility. A multi-track ProTools live recording facility is also available.
The Tate Modern stage hosted the biggest open-air Tango event ever
held in the UK! Our most unusual setting, however, was probably the
Bandstand on Southwark Bridge, which had been closed to the public
and turned into various themed areas including a beach, a banquet and
an outdoor-indoor lounge.

We’re already getting excited about what next year’s event might
throw at us!

November 2007: Shaolin Monks get the Dragon Spirit.

Our Dragon Spirit Line Array System has just returned from a tour with
the incredible Shaolin Monks. It made perfect sense for them to chose
this rig, besides the clarity of sound across all ranges of application -
live music, vocals, playback and action, the rig was designed, built and
assembled in the Monks’ home country of China.

Twenty Monks (and young trainees) travelled all the way from the
Shaolin Temple in China, to demonstrate their martial arts expertise to
the UK. The action included a crescendo of kung-fu sequences as the
Shaolin Monks were lifted aloft on sharpened spears, splintered wooden
blocks with their bare hands, broke bricks on their heads and flew
through the air in an incredible series of backflips and spins.

Of course, the rig also gave a fantastic performance - adding to the
excitement by amplifying the astonishing feats of strength and skill of
the Kung Fu Masters.
The D-Show is probably the most
in-demand desk in the world at the
minute, with most of the top
international engineers adding it to
their spec list.
The system is fitted with all the
usual components but has had the
analogue output boosted to 24
channels to make it suitable for
both Front of House and Monitor
duties. Please get in touch with us if you are interested in
hiring this incredible piece of kit, we can offer very
competitive hire rates.
September 2007: Putting Spirit Into The
Thames Festival

Pyramid Audio love working at The Lord
Mayor’s Thames Festival!
It is always a spectacular event, but this
year exceeded our expectations even more
than ever. The sheer variety of
entertainment throughout the day would be
enough to satisfy anyone, while the evening
shows – Transe Express’s human chandelier
(100 feet above Jubilee Gardens), the 2000
colourful carnival characters and the
massive fireworks display, were truly
jaw-dropping.
We have supplied the sound for the festival
for the last 7 years and this year, for the
first time, we used a single brand of speaker
– Dragon Spirit. Pro Sound News featured both companies in their
October edition. Over half a million people enjoyed the weekend’s
festivities, including our five stages, which were spread out along the
Thames from The London Eye to Tower Bridge.
The Hubble Bubble and Silk Row stages both featured fusions of world
music, while two other stages included Al Fresco ballrooms – in fact,
